Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
As many of you know, this novel is one of my favorites of all time. The imagery and emotions portrayed in the words written by Jonathan Safran Foer is simply brilliant and I can’t begin to list off all my favorite quotes. The reason why I bring up this novel today is because I had the pleasure of seeing the movie adaptation. I absolutely loved it. I was hesitant about seeing it because we all know that movies never quite measure up to novels but I was curious as to how they would bring Foer’s story to life. And I believe they really did a wonderful job- much better than I could’ve imagined, considering the topic and length of the book.
There were many negative reviews and criticisms about the movie and I can understand why many didn’t enjoy it as much as I did or felt it was boring/ lackluster. But I think that if these people read the novel, they’d be able to follow better and understand why the plot is slow to build up. Regardless though, I really do recommend this movie to everyone!
